Cancer Voices & University of Adelaide: Survivors as Teachers

Survivors as Teachers is a collaboration between Cancer Voices and the University of Adelaide. The goal for these sessions is to help medical students understand the impact of cancer and other chronic conditions on every aspect of life – on the individual, their family & friends, the emotional side as well as the physical & practical implications. It is an opportunity for survivors and carers to tell their stories. The students are always interested to hear about mesothelioma and the effects it can have. It is encouraging to think that understanding the impact of cancer on a patient's life will make the students compassionate and positive doctors for the future.
