This beautiful quilt was on display at the International Workers Memorial Day service held at Pilgrim Church, Flinders Street Adelaide on Sunday 28th April 2019.

It commemorates a small sample of the many lives lost in South Australian workplaces since the year 2000. It was commissioned to acknowledge the life-long impact that a workplace death has on those who are left behind and to bring about advocacy for better safety and prevention. The families of VOID (Voice of Industrial Death) played an important role in the making of the quilt.

VOID is a not for profit organisation providing support and help to families impacted by a workplace death. VOID assists families, friends and co-workers to establish a line of communication with the departments in charge of an investigation / legal process. It can also guide people through the process and help them better understand the time frames, terminologies, available support mechanisms and their rights.

Please contact AVA if you would like to be put in touch with VOID.
