Thank you to everyone who helped to make AVA's annual Memorial Service such a success.

Thanks in particular go to Salisbury Council which has allocated us an area in Pitman Park for the service. Tony Zappia MP originally initiated this and Mayor Gillian Aldridge continues the tradition. There is a rock bearing a plaque in memory of all asbestos victims - this year there is an additional plaque to commemorate Terry Miller OAM, who died on 31 May. Council staff set up the marquee and seating and MC the proceedings.

Thank you to Peter Baxter and his helpers who turned up at 6.30 am on the day to set up the many crosses, all named and in straight lines. There were well over 200 crosses this year.

A big thank you to the Pipes & Drums of the Royal Caledonian Society of SA, who played Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral. It adds so much to the occasion to have you there.

Finally thank you to the AMWU who put on a BBQ so the sausages are ready at the end of the service.
